Once in Braille
Biblioasis Newsflash: Rebecca Rosenblum's ONCE to be transcribed into braille by the CNIB. Though this must happen quite often, it's a first for the press. Means a lot to me personally: my granddad was blind, and the CNIB helped to keep him sane, first with braille, and then, after his stroke, with Books on Tape. He was the most literate member of my family, spent 8-10 hours a day "reading", right up until his last few months. I spent many hours on his bed with him listening to these books. So the fact that the CNIB will be doing Rebecca's book in braille, and that someone will be able to discover her this way who might not have been able to before ... well ... I think that's pretty special.
